Cemetery Stories: Life, Death and Beyond was a live storytelling event with people sharing stories about their experience with the mysteries of death and dying, and how life goes on after a loved one dies. There were 16 stories told during the program. The stories cover a range of emotions, and many were quite uplifting.
The event took place at dusk in Historic Fairview Cemetery, located at 700 Yale Blvd. SE in Albuquerque. It was organized by the New Mexico Humanities Council, the Before I Die NM Festival and the cemetery.
Cemetery Stories was the closing event of the Festival. Hot cider and cookies were served. There was an opportunity to write out messages to our deceased loved ones and burn them in a fire pit during the event. Approximately 75 people attended the event.
All the videos of the stories are being posted to YouTube. You can also watch other videos from the Festival at the Festival Videos Page at www.BeforeIDieNM.com.
